These groups represent a broad cross-section of the River Oaks body who are brought together for the express purpose of using their skills and abilities to serve others. Individuals are grouped together with others who share a trade, skill, or service that could be offered to others in need. Let us know what your skills and abilities are and we'll try to connect you with other like-minded (or gifted) individuals.
Below is a list of our Service Groups. If you are interested in participating in any of these groups, please stop by the Information Center in the lobby and complete an "Interest Card." Or if you're interested in starting a new Service Group or have any questions, please contact Scott Tilley.
- F.B.I. (Fixers, Builders, and Instructors)
The F.B.I. exists for the purpose of assisting and encouraging the less fortunate in our community by doing home repairs, building projects, and instructing from the Word through our labor, as reflections of God's love.
- CARS (Christian Auto Repairmen Serving)
By using God's gift of mechanical ability and a heart born to serve, CARS exists for the purpose of assisting and encouraging the less fortunate of our church body and community by doing our best to provide safe and reliable transportation.
- C.I.A. (Compassion In Action)
The CIA exists to assist and encourage the poor in Elkhart County primarily through existing agencies. We desire not only to meet their physical needs but also to introduce them to the Gospel of Christ so they might live in the splendor of heaven for all eternity.
- Snowmen
The Snowmen work together to keep the paths and walkways at River Oaks clear so others can easily come to worship and serve.
- River Oaks Health Team
The mission statement of this ministry is to share Christ's love with care and concern by providing educational programs, emotional and spiritual support to the church and the community, and to assist individuals and families in making informed decisions about their health and healthcare needs.
- The HUGS Project
Loving every American Serving in the Middle East; The HUGS Project send care packages our troops. The River Oaks Community Church HUGS Project meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. To learn more about The HUGS Project, please contact Nancy Mast.
