How Things Work
What to expect when you visit KidsWorld
CHECK-IN AND REGISTRATION
There are four computerized check-in stations at the KidsWorld Information Center. First-time guests will register at the Visitor Check-in station. For security purposes, all children who attend classes in KidsWorld go through a registration process. Guests should plan to allow a few extra minutes when visiting for the first time. Upon check-in every child will be issued a nametag. Parents are issued a receipt at the same time and will need to present this receipt when picking up their child from class. After the first visit, children may be checked in at any of the four stations.
NAMETAG AND PARENT RECEIPT
CHILD DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
All children (Infants through 4th grade) must be brought to class by a parent or guardian, after checking the child at the KidsWorld Information Center. Parents /guardians are not allowed to drop off a child and then leave the River Oaks Community Church campus.
All children must be picked up at their classroom by a parent/guardian. Children must remain in the classroom until an adult arrives with a matching claim ticket. NO CHILD WILL BE RELEASED WITHOUT A CLAIM TICKET WITH THE CORRESPONDING NUMBER ON THE CHILD'S NAMETAG. In the event that a parent loses a claim receipt, please return to the KidsWorld Information Center for a replacement.
PARENT PAGING SYSTEM
In KidsWorld we do our best to meet the needs of an anxious or upset child. However, if the child consistently cries for over 10 minutes then a parent/guardian will be paged. When a parent is paged, the Child ID number will appear in the Worship/Multipurpose Room and on monitor displays in selected adult classrooms. The Child ID number is printed on the Parent Receipt.
WELLNESS POLICY
To ensure the health of children, volunteers, and staff, we ask that sick children not attend class. A child is welcome to enter class if he/she has NOT had the following in the last 24 hours:
- Fever
- Runny nose with thick or colored mucus
- Persistent or hacking cough
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Undiagnosed rash
- Impetigo
- Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
- Chicken Pox (must be seven days since outbreak and completely scabbed over)
If a child displays any of the above symptoms the parent will be paged by the number display system.
The leaders/volunteers of KidsWorld are not authorized to dispense any over-the-counter or prescription medications.
