Membership
Membership
Everyone who attends River Oaks Community Church is invited to explore becoming a member. Membership is a way of officially identifying yourself with our body of believers. Members are those who have felt led by God to make River Oaks their church home; and, who are ready to move beyond being a regular or occasional attendee to a deeper level of commitment in discipleship and involvement. Your membership also provides opportunity to have a voice in voting for such things as budget, pastoral staff, etc.
Benefits of membership
- Voting privileges on significant items.
- Mutual accountability between member and church leadership
- Participation in Elder/Deacon selection and pastoral hiring.
- Eligibility for serving in key leadership roles (Elder, Deacon, or ministry leader).
- Affirmation of one’s commitment to becoming a "fully devoted follower of Christ," and in turn, affirms the commitment of River Oaks’ leadership to assist in that pursuit.
- Demonstrates commitment and accountability to the local church.
- Invites participation at "members only" meeting with River Oaks Elders and Senior leadership.
Requirements for membership include a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, attendance at a membership class, a completed application with a written testimony, and a willingness to serve within the church and to be an active part of a small group. Membership classes are slated for Sept. 30 at 6:30pm and February 13 at 10:30am.
