SHOW Compassion to the poor
Compassion is defined as the “sympathetic concern for the suffering or misfortune of others.” At River Oaks, we take compassion seriously because Jesus asked us to; it is a primary way we demonstrate that we are his true followers. In Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus speaks of the final judgment when we will be judged by how we responded to those who were hungry, thirsty, naked, in prison or sick. We don’t believe we can respond to every need, but do believe we must respond to some! These pages show the ways in which we are, both locally and internationally.
