Christmas Project 2017 – Compassion Goal

International Compassion:

$25,000 for Children’s Lifeline – Haiti

Children’s Lifeline is a non-profit agency that feels called by God to provide solid Biblical teachings, food, clothing, medical supplies, facilities for educational assistance for the underprivileged children and their families in underdeveloped areas in HAITI. The goal is to assist them in developing the skills and resources to provide all these things for themselves.

The Kids Against Hunger organization is working to significantly reduce hunger and malnutrition by feeding starving children throughout the world. Kids Against Hunger has been partnering with Children’s Lifeline for the past eight years to deliver meals to over 8,500 children in the Haitian villages. We are again partnering with Kids Against Hunger on Saturday, March 3, 2018 for another pack-a-thon! Mark your calendars.

Children’s Lifeline’s biggest focus this coming year will be on solar energy. They currently have solar panels at the Trade School and Warehouse and they have added four panels to the orphanage. They will now be focusing on putting solar panels in the upper and lower houses. They are very excited about the solar panel project, as it uses the resource of the sun, which is ultimately given to us by God.

The remaining funds will go to their Churches to help them with programs and items they need to help reach their two villages.

$14,000 for the Persecuted Church through Voice of the Martyrs

Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, inter-denominational, Christian organization dedicated to serving and assisting persecuted Christian families worldwide through practical and spiritual assistance.

$10,000 will be sent to Voice of the Martyrs to be used toward the purchase of Action and Outreach Pack items which will be used by pastors working in and with individuals in restricted and hostile nations.

$4,000 will be sent to Voice of the Martyrs toward the purchase of Bibles. Getting a Bible to every believer is a task that the global body of Christ can accomplish in our lifetime. VOM is committed to seeing it happen in countries where Christians are persecuted for their faith. In recent years, VOM workers have distributed more than 1 million Bibles each year on the world’s most difficult and dangerous mission fields, and they are far from finished!

$10,000 for Island Nation – Cuba

These funds are used to support over 50 pastors and their families in the rural area around Camaguey. The pastors choose to spend all of their money on their ministries instead of themselves. We would like to be able to give every Pastor an additional $50 to bless them and their families with the basic necessities of life, as well as ministry needs in the Church as they arise. One exciting possibility includes bringing a Cuban Pastor and his wife here to visit and collaborate with River Oaks in Español.

 $2,500 for River Oaks Missionaries

  • Doug & René Dyksen with Cru, serving at Indiana University ($625)
  • Emily Minnick-Jajcay, serving at New Life Centers in Chicago, IL ($625)
