This message is the fourth in the series on the letters to the seven churches of Revelation. These letters were dictated by Jesus to the Apostle John while he was exiled on the island of Patmos. The letters contain both compliments and criticisms and are as relevant for the Church and Christians today as they were when they were written 2,000 years ago.
The fourth letter was written to the church in Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29). This was a church filled with people who were growing in their faith in several ways, but at the same time there were some serious issues that needed to be address. Jesus’ criticism centered around a woman “Jezebel” who was teaching from within this church that it was okay for them to compromise their faith in order to fit in with the world around them. This message details this primary issue, different ways we can respond to compromising situations, and finally how we can “hold fast” to our faith and resist compromise.
I hope and pray that this message will help you fix your eyes on Jesus and figure out where you need to take some stands in your faith.
