Today we wrapped up our “When You Pray” series by looking at the last sentence in the Lord’s Prayer:
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:13)
The big idea is that as a follower of Christ, or someone seeking, we are a target of Satan. He wants to create an eternal separation between us and God, and if he cannot do that, then he wants to make us feel disconnected from our heavenly Father.
To Satan, the only thing better than a non-Christian is an ineffective one! We have to prepare ourselves for the battle of our Soul and never forget the enemy is like a roaring lion, wanting to devour us (1 Peter 5:8)
I left you with 3 reminders:
Jesus told us we should ask for protection…so ask! We need to be praying for protection from temptation and testing.
When temptations comes…name them! Like naming our sins, we need to put a name to what we are struggling with.
Don’t go through anything alone…reach out! We have 3 great Midweek opportunities beginning on October 21. Pick up information from the website or in the Lobby!
Our hope is you pray different than you did 6 weeks ago. We have a heavenly Father that loves us and wants to communicate with us. We should take Jesus’ example and approach Him daily!
Have a great week!
