Budget Vote

Copies of the proposed budget, as well as ballots, are available in the Lobby. We urge all members and non-members to vote. You may also cast your vote online, no later than 11:45am on Sunday, August 31.

Office Closed

Please note that the church driveway is being sealed tomorrow, September 1 (Labor Day). There will be no access to the driveway, parking lots or building. The church Office will be closed in observance of Labor Day. Please plan to take care of any necessary business before or after this date.

What’s Next

Beginning Wednesday, September 10, we will host a model Community Group from 6:30 to 8:00pm at River Oaks. There will be snacks, a bit of teaching, and childcare if needed. You are welcome to join us at anytime, you just need to register onlineOur goal is to model what a Community Group looks like, then after six weeks, encourage you to continue meeting on your own.

River Oaks Defined

On Tuesday, September 16, at 6:30pm, River Oaks staff would like to invite you to a meet and greet followed by a brief description of each ministry area. Pastor Tim will then convey River Oaks’ history, doctrine, and ministry philosophy. Lastly, the church will be open for a tour before you leave.

This evening is for you if you are interested in meeting the staff, wanting an overview of River Oaks, or would like to become a member. Please sign up HERE if you are interested in attending.

A Men’s Breakfast You Won’t Want to Miss!

Men making connections with other men never seems easy. Sometimes, the best way to allow this to occur is providing opportunities for men to come together to find some common ground with other guys.

What better forum to do this than around some great food on a Saturday morning? Please register here to join us on Saturday, September 20 at 8:00am for a complimentary breakfast.

Not only will you be inspired through testimony, but you also will hear about what may be coming in the months ahead that allows you to plug in and connect!

Crafty Ladies

Come enjoy an evening of creativity and conversation on Thursday, September 11, from 6:30-8:30pm, at Jessica Alger’s home. Make-and-take cards are available for a small fee. Contact Jessica for more information.

Jail Ministry

The jail ministry team will meet Wednesday, September 3 at 6:30pm in the Heavenly Grounds Café. All are welcome to attend and share ideas or learn more about this exciting ministry. Contact Steve Peer for more information.

NEW! Cancer Care Ministry

If you are a cancer survivor and would like to offer support and encouragement to others diagnosed with cancer, please plan to attend a brainstorming meeting on Tuesday, September 9 at 6:30pm at River Oaks. Please register online for this interest meeting.

DivorceCare

If you are dealing with the pain and uncertainty caused by divorce, don’t walk this road alone. Plan to attend DivorceCare, beginning Tuesday, September 9 at 6:00pm in Small Group Room 1. Sign up HERE today.

Thursday Morning Men’s Study

Beginning Thursday, September 4 at 6:30am in the Heavenly Grounds Café. Men, join us for a study of Revelation, led by Brian Clark. No registration required, just be sure to bring your Bible.

Focus

Join us every Wednesday in Room 203A&B for dinner at 6:30pm and study at 7:00pm. Currently studying “Share Jesus Without Fear“. Led by Kent Yoder.

HUGS

Please keep The HUGS Project in mind as you shop. Our storage shelves need filled with drink mixes, freezer pops, peanut butter, beef jerky, deodorant and toothpaste. Remember to donate your Sunday comics and magazines too. The troops love a “taste of home”. Our collection box is easy to find in the Lobby. Thank you!

Elder Prayer Requests

On Tuesday evening, September 9, the River Oaks Elders will be praying for the church body. If you have specific requests for which you would like them to pray, submit those requests to office@riveroaks.org with “Elder Prayer Request” in the subject line, by Wednesday, September 3.

Condolences

Our prayers are with Carol (Tom) Eichorst as she grieves the loss of her father, Donald Ebling, on August 21.
