Mexico ’14 Update #6

Hello fellow Americans who are reading this! This is Brittney Eichorst here writing. I want to tell you all about a cute and heart melting adventure I experienced yesterday (Tuesday) with Chase Biddle and Alexa Klopfenstein while at our worksite. We were all busy hammering nails and painting when I began to hear a little boy down the road crying. You could hear him crying and yelling “Daddy! Daddy!” I looked down the road and saw him and his sister standing inside their little gated house. I asked Tommy for the keys to our caravan and grabbed a little toy car and a bracelet for the little girl. I went back up and grabbed Chase and Alexa and we walked down the road to them. When we got there, the little boy was still yelling and crying for his daddy. We gave the girl the bracelet and she smiled and said gracias. Chase then handed the little boy the car and he immediately stopped crying and smiled at him. It was the most heart melting experience! The boy said gracias and continued smiling at the three of us. We told him we had to leave and walked back towards our worksite. All three of us turned around on the way back and saw him rolling the toy car all around the side of his house. We smiled at each other and returned to building the house. The little moments like this make all the hard work, sweat, and smelling each other after not showering for days totally worth it.
