These past 5 days have been life changing. We have been to 2 orphanages. We sing father Abraham and the chorus to “O Happy Day” with hand/body motions. On Saturday we went to the first orphanage, and a little girl with small tight braids found me among the others of our group and attached herself to me. Though I did not get her name, she was the cutest little child in the world. The whole time I carried her on my side and she never let go except when her shoe fell off. Jonah was the tickle monster to her. When he came close to her she would hold up her hand with the prettiest smile and say no. She and I were inseparable, and we both were sweating buckets.
Last night I had volunteered to lead the devotional; it was on Spiritual Gifts. At one point I asked everyone to share some of the gifts they have seen in other people. Towards the end of our group time most everyone were either close to or were crying. Everyone was sharing about what they have witnessed and seen during our time in Haiti so far. It was an amazing night.
At some point or another some of us have been home sick or have wanted a special person to comfort them. I miss my mom and my “brother”. Okay, and everyone else but mostly my mom. But the good thing is there are people here that are there for us. Dawn has been the mother to us all.
I’m praying for you all, and I miss and love you all. Mom, please pass this on to my friends and “brother” for me.
Lots of love,
