Well, we’re here now. Many of my experiences since we’ve arrived have resulted in a mild case of culture shock, especially adjusting to being a passenger in Haitian traffic, which I can only compare to American traffic where the traffic laws are treated more like guidelines that no one wants to follow. Luckily, our bus driver knows what he’s doing. We will be taking the bus to many of the destinations where we will be doing our service later in the week, so I guess it’s a good thing that I am used to it now!
To my mom: Yes, I am using sunscreen and bug spray. Also, thank you for making me bring the hat and the foot powder, I now realize that I would’ve had a hard time without those items.
