Haiti ‘12 Update #4

Haiti ‘12 Update #4

The graduation was definitely a fantastic way for us to better understand the culture here.  Everyone was super dressed up, looking fantastic, wearing suits and fancy dresses and the men would wear cool sunglasses on their head. We all tracked in wearing tshirts, but hey we already stuck out without that haha.  They had some songs as part of the ceremony that were in English and they were so beautifully sang! The pianist had the entire thing memorized and it was AMAZING!  The guy was only a late teenager and playing like a pro!  Later, they passed out pop to us, in tall glass bottles which was really cool, and biscuits that were filled with some kind of meat, absolutely delicious.   Overall I really enjoyed the whole thing, especially all the acts and performances, because dancing is the same in every language.

We are proud of our granddaughter Mckenah for taking the opportunity to make a trip to Haiti with a group from her church.
