A Testament to Faith and Conviction

A Testament to Faith and Conviction

Recall Al Heims reported in one of his post Island Nation trip blog entries that one of the pastors supported by ROCC, Alcides, would be walking the perimeter of the West end of the Island with two friends – witnessing in God’s name as they traveled to all they met.  We have received communication from Alcides that they completed their trip – all 1200+ km of it.  We are thankful for their success and protection.

Below is the translated communication we received;

Greetings dear Brother.  God bless you.  I want to thank you for your prayers, because thanks to them we do the work entrusted to us.  We walked the whole nation praying and saying a blessing.  Only what we do because the Lord gave us strength.  I know you along with the church praying for us day by day.

Our family night by night we pray for you and your church.  We know that your church pray for us and this gives us much joy.

Greetings to all who know and have shared with us here and the rest of the church.  We look forward to the November 20 to 15 girls. (NOTE: this is a reference to his daughter’s “quinceanera” … 15th birthday which is a big deal for girls in the Island Nation)

A big hug from everyone here, brothers and friends.  Alcides and Family.

This text is attached because God gave it to you – Isaiah 26:3-4

Isaiah 26:3-4 (NIV) “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.  Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself is the Rock eternal.”
